This museum captures the history of automotive development in a brand new facility that is also available for banquets and events.

Visitors can take a stroll down memory lane as they view the antique cars on display and imagine what it must have been like to ride in one of these vehicles. A 1903 Stanley Steamer sits resplendent with its maroon leather chairs and white rubber tires, with its ornate lamps and classic construction. People will pause when they see the 1860 hearse that bore the body of President Lincoln following his assassination.

Of course, no antique car collection would be complete without a Ford Model T. There are several Model T cars on display, including the 1911 Ford Model T Torpedo Roundabout, with its brass and wood accoutrements and simple canvas canopy. There is also a 1911 Ford Model T Delivery Truck, which harkens back to the early days when the automobile was already being used not only as a method of conveyance for passengers, but as a utility vehicle for use in business deliveries. The early history of the automobile is fully explored in this museum that the car enthusiast and history buff alike will enjoy.

In addition to antique cars, there are displays of automobiles from the classic period of the 50s and 60s, including a 1966 Mustang Convertible and a 1955 T-Bird Convertible. While these may not be antiques, they take the viewer back in time when cars were designed not only for performance but for aesthetic appeal. Classic cars are not the only thing this museum has. The 1995 Batmobile from the movie “Batman Returns” is also featured in this museum’s complete and eclectic collection.

In addition to cars, the Tallahassee Antique Car Museum has a collection of antiques and collectibles throughout the museum ranging from baseball cards, cash registers, toys, outboard motors and even the Batman motorcycle. There is something to capture anyone’s interest in this museum that is dedicated to preserving the legacy of the antique automobile and other treasures from days gone by.
