Created from the former Central School of Barberville (1919) this center is now a teaching facility for those of all ages interested in exploring their artistic side.  The friendly staff will work with any that want help and encourage them to continue on their quest for finding that special joy of art.

Since the school was dedicated to the arts there have been numerous other buildings of historical significance added to the village.  These buildings include (in order of the year they were added):1982: Pierson Railroad Depot (c. 1885)
1983: Astor Bridgekeeper’s House (c. 1926)
1984: Turpentine Comm./Store (c. early 1900s)
1988: Turpentine Still (c. 1924)

There have been more workshops built to exhibit the various historical trades and life ways such as the print shop, wheelwright shop, carriage house, woodwright shop, blacksmith shop and Timucuan-Myacca and Seminole Villages.  They have also purchased the Joseph Underhill House which was built around 1879 and will be restoring it as funds and time allow.
