Have you ever wanted to float high above the water?  If you wanted to share the experience with someone special then tandem parasailing is a great way to see Key West.  Parasailing is safe for all ages and can be done alone or with a buddy.

Think of flying 300 feet above the island where you can see everything below as the birds see it.  While you are sailing you will see everything, even the wildlife that live in the water below.

PARASAILING! A great way to experience Key West! Grab a partner and do it Tandem style. As you sit next to each other, hear the whisper of the warm wind during take-off. See the crystal clear water of Key West, as you fly high, 500 ft above it.

You will be towed behind a boat while hooked up to a specially designed parachute that is known as a parasail.  As the boat takes off you are pulled into the air.  You will have little or no control over the parachute but the thrill will still be outstanding.

Parasailing actually began in the 60’s.  It has become a favorite pastime of those visiting beaches all over the world.  One thing you should know is that if the wind is stronger than 15 mph you won’t be able to go out because of safety factors.  You will have to wear a helmet, approved life vest, and foot protection.  You will step into the harness and hooks into the parasail and once the line is made taunt by the crew you will take off into the blue sky.

You will actually sit in the harness rather than hanging from it. People from the beach areas will all turn to see you as you sail past them.

The landing, for most parasailers, will be in the water since that is much safer than doing a land landing.  Those that are experienced parasailers may choose to land on the ground, but the risk of injury is much higher with a ground landing than on the water so most operators encourage you to do a water landing where the boat will come and pick you up once you touch down.

Try it, you may actually enjoy the bird’s eye view of parasailing and the thrill of soaring above the ground at 15 to 30 miles an hour.
